St. Padre Pio Copper Casket with Copper Hardware

The stunning Saint Padre Pio image is applied to the top of the casket. All sides of the casket are in a copper hand-brushed finish with subtle gilt highlights. This gasketed casket follows the half-couch design which features a bedding system. It is adorned with a creme velvet interior in classic design and includes a matching pillow and throw. The exterior is decorated with sculpted square corners, brushed copper-tone pieta ornamentation and accessories with full handle bars. Metal caskets are appealing to many people due to the wide variety of styles, designs and colors.

Caskets are constructed from sturdy 20 gauge or 18 gauge steel, with or without a sealer. The smaller the number the thicker the steel.

St. Padre Pio - St. Padre Pio was an Italian priest who was known for his piety and charity, as well as the gift of the stigmata, which has never been explained.
St. Padre Pio was born Francesco Forgione, on May 25, 1887, in Pietrelcina, Italy. His parents were peasant farmers. He had an older brother and three younger sisters, as well as two other siblings who died in infancy. As a child, he was very religious and by the age of five he reportedly made the decision to dedicate his life to God.
Padre Pio died on September 23, 1968. His funeral was attended by over 100,000 people.
Pope John Paul II recognized Padre Pio as a saint on June 16, 2002. His feast day is September 23. He is the patron of civil defense volunteers, adolescents, and the village of Pietrelcina.
